Take Care Of Those Hands

Winter has come to an end and the signs of spring are popping up around you. But the damage that the dry winter air has done to the skin is apparent with that "winter's itch".
Now, with the appearance of more sun there's the challenge of protecting the skin from harmful rays for health and appearance of sun damage. The hands may have suffered the most. Caring for our face, a person’s first impression of us, is natural. However, we neglect the hands in our skincare routine, leaving them dry, blotchy and irritated. Our hands are usually the second impression we give others when we offer a greeting and handshake. As much as the face, the hands are also "age telling". So it’s important to take the time to care for them.

Here are some things you can do to keep those hands healthy and beautiful:
  • Wear gloves when rinsing and washing dishes.
  • Wear gardening gloves.
  • Wear gloves while driving (I carry a good and stylish line)
  • Hydrate the hands after dishes, gardening, bathing the dog etc.
  • SUNSCREEN - SPF30 at least (several excellent ones to choose from)
  • Exfoliate with a good body scrub at least once a week
  • If you get microdermabrasion treatments, add the hands to the treatment.
  • If you get peels, add the hands.
  • Did I mention SUNSCREEN?
Enjoy the bright and shiny weather and take care of those hands!
